PRIDE General Director Nobuhiko Takada, clad in an Orix Buffaloes uniform, threw out the opening pitch in the April 17th baseball game between the Orix Buffaloes and the Seibu Lions.

TAKADA RECENTLY GAVE A PRESENTATION AT DOSHISHA UNIVERSITY

PRIDE General Director Nobuhiko Takada recently gave a presentation at Doshisha University. More than 400 students packed in to the presentation hall.

As soon as he arrived at Doshisha University, PRIDE General Director Nobuhiko Takada was surrounded by a mob of students. Takada entered the university amid cheers from the students.

SAKURABA TRAINING

Kazushi Sakuraba held a public training session on April 12th to show how he is preparing for his opponent in the April 23rd PRIDE GP 2005 Opening Round, the "Japanese Killer" Yoon Dong Sik. Sakuraba sparred with Takada Dojo's Takanori Sato, wearing a gi, and also had another surprise sparring partner.

A press conference was held in DSE Tokyo headquarters to announce two matches for the May 22nd PRIDE BUSHIDO Vol. 7. BUSHIDO's 83kg ace, Ryo Chonan, will face Nino "Elvis" Schembri and Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett will face BUSHIDO newcomer and undefeated Pancrase lightweight Yoshiro Maeda.

Yuki Kondo held a public training session at P's Lab, a Pancrase gym in Tokyo. Kondo will face Igor Vovchanchyn in the opening round of the PRIDE Grand Prix 2005 on April 23rd.

"I feel good. I'm in top shape," Kondo smiled. Despite Vovchanchyn's easy win over Pancrase's Takahashi, there's no shaking Kondo's "immoveable heart."

"Because I am a middleweight, I'm not really that big. When I am a heavyweight I can't do certain things. Being a heavyweight takes away from my wind. Back then I lost to Quinton and as a result I missed out on the tournament. I deserve to be in it now. I fought the top heavyweights this past years and fought well. So what do you think I'll do to the middleweights?"

The PRIDE Middleweight Grand Prix 2005 will be held on April 23rd in Osaka Dome and all eight matches, with 16 fighters total, have been decided. Dream Stage Entertainment CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara looked satisfied as he explained that PRIDE had brought together the "best of the best from the world's middleweights."

The first two matches have been announced for PRIDE FIGHTING'S BUSHIDO VOLUME 7 fightcard ... Ryo Chonan (Japan) versus Nino "Elvis" Schembri (Brazil) and Yoshiro Maeda (Japan) versus Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett (USA).
BUSHIDO VOLUME 7 will take place from the Ariake Coliseum in Japan and is scheduled to debut on North American pay per view via iNDEMAND, DIRECTV, DISH NETWORK, UrbanXtra, TVN1, VU!, and Viewer's Choice Canada.
