Hiroyuki Abe, a veteran MMA fighter, will appear in a challenge match in the upcoming PRIDE BUSHIDO 4 event. He'll be taking on the Brazilian "Buscape" and says that he'll fight as if he were in the big show. Will Abe be able to show off his MMA skills in front of the fans of his hometown, Nagoya?

"Takashi Sugiura (NOAH) has raised his hand and volunteered to be on the July 19 PRIDE BUSHIDO event. NOAH's heretic has been away from PRIDE for 2 years. Sugiura's opponent will be Giant Silva, who fought Ogawa in the June 20 PRIDE GP 2nd Round event."

Hidehiko Yoshida was present at a talk show to commemorate the Japanese launch of the "Master and Commander" DVD. Yoshida is a big fan of the movie and appeared in the same costume as the star, Russell Crowe.

4TH PRIDE CHALLENGE

The 4 th PRIDE Challenge was held on the 7 th floor of the Omori Gold's Gym Tokyo Annex on July 11. Takehiro Nagata, Yutaro Miyamoto and Hosbayar, all winners in the 3 rd PRIDE Challenge, recently made there professional MMA debut in DEEP, garnering a lot of attention for this event.

Hayato "Mach" Sakurai, a man plagued by injuries, will appear as one of the ace fighters in the upcoming BUSHIDO 4 event on July 19 in Nagoya . The fact that this will be his opponent's first appearance in BUSHIDO and Sakurai hasn't received any information about him has apparently gotten "Mach" excited about this match.

LOS ANGELES, California ???An additional match has been added to the BUSHIDO VOLUME 4 fightcard as Paulo Cesar "Giant" Silva will face Takashi Sugiura of Japan. Already previously announced are matches featuring Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, Dean "The Boogey Man" Lister, Hayato "Mach" Sakurai, and a team match between the Brazilian Top Team and Team Japan. BUSHIDO VOLUME 4 will take place from the Nagoya Rainbow Hall in Nagoya, Japan and is scheduled to debut on North American pay per view for customers of iNDEMAND, DIRECTV, and TVN on Sunday, July 25th, 2004 at 3:00pm EST, 12:00pm PST (please check each respective carrier for later evening replays). For customers of DISH Network, the premiere will be Sunday, August 1st, 2004 at 9:00pm EST, 6:00pm PST.
