Pride Fighting Championships interviewed Sentoryu in advance of his Dec. 31 fight in PRIDE SHOCKWAVE.

Sentoryu's participation in this year's New Year's Eve event, SHOCKWAVE, was confirmed when he gained his first MMA victory in PRIDE BUSHIDO 5. Taking the microphone, he declared, "Sumo is strong!" The theme of this year's event is "destiny", so which fighter lies in Sentoryu's destiny? A surprising name came out of Sentoryu's mouth...

Pride Fighting Championships interviewed Yuki Kondo in advance of his Dec. 31 fight in PRIDE SHOCKWAVE.

PANCRASE's Yuki Kondo has been scheduled to fight the middleweight Dan Henderson in the Dec. 31 PRIDE SHOCKWAVE event. Kondo won his match in last year's New Year's Eve event and is aiming to be the champ of next year's scheduled PRIDE Middleweight Grand Prix.

Four more matches have been announced for PRIDE FIGHTING's SHOCKWAVE fight card. Previously announced as a participant on the card was 2000 Judo Olympic gold medallist Makoto Takimoto; He will now be facing Sumo wrestler Henry "Sentoryu" Miller of St. Louis, Missouri. Also added: Stefan Leko of Germany versus Ikuhisa "The Punk" Minowa of Japan, Paolo "Giant" Silva of Brazil versus Choi Mu Bae of Korea, and Ryo Chonan of Japan versus TBA.

GRACIE VERSUS ANJO ADDED TO SHOCKWAVE FIGHTCARD

The match-up of Ryan Gracie versus Yoji Anjo has been added to PRIDE FIGHTING's SHOCKWAVE fight card. Hailing from Suginami, Japan and claiming Sumo as his fighting style, Anjo is a mixed martial arts veteran. His opponent will be the fiery Ryan Gracie who hails from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and represents Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Gracie is coming off of three straight wins, which includes Shungo Oyama, Kazuhiro Hamanaka, and Ikuhisa "The Punk" Minowa.

12.7 TAKIMOTO ANNOUNCEMENT

"I don't mind fighting in an open-weight class." Olympic gold medalist, Makoto Takimoto, shows courage in his December 7th press conference. Takimoto (29, freelance), winner of a judo gold medal in the 81kg division at the Sydney Olympics, suddenly announced that he will make his professional MMA debut at the December 31st 2004 PRIDE New Year's Eve show. "I don't care who my opponent is," Takimoto said. "Weight doesn't matter."
