Kazuhiro Nakamura Interview after the Press Conference

A press conference was held on December 7th to announced additional cards for the upcoming PRIDE SHOCKWAVE 2006, to be held at Saitama Super Arena on December 31st. Following the press conference, Kazuhiro Nakamura (Yoshida Dojo) spoke to reporters.

Kazuhiro "Kazu" Nakamura is now training at Yoshida Dojo, kickboxing gym RIKIX and at Kaneko Boxing Gym. Although he had plans to travel to Peter Aerts' gym, whom he met while training last year in Brazil, Kazu decided that there was not enough time until the New Year's Eve SHOCKWAVE event and will complete his final training in Japan.
"He's a very aggressive fighter. I've learned a lot watches Shogun's fights. He's strong and he always tries to take out his opponent," Kazu spoke about his impression of Shogun. "I won't be climbing into the ring as a beginner though and we're both human. If he gets punched, he will go down and if he gets caught in a submission, his bones will break. I'm confident in that." Kazu believes that Shogun is tough but not unbeatable. Although Kazu's true goal is Wanderlei Silva, who is planned to defend his Middleweight Championship title in February 2007 in Las Vegas, he is focusing everything on this fight with Shogun. "I haven't thought that far ahead. I'm going to throw everything I've ever done at Shogun. That's all and I haven't thought beyond that." Kazu continued, "I can still fight so I won't say that this is the compilation of my career but there are a lot of people involved in PRIDE, not just the fighters. I want to give a fight that everyone can be satisfied with, including those people and myself."
