On August 19th, "PRIDE FIGHTING NIGHT" was held at the FOX SPORTS GRILL at the Spectrum in Irvine, California. An estimated five-hundred fans gathered to be a part of DREAM STAGE ENTERTAINMENT'S official announcement of their October 21st "REAL DEAL" event at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Stepping on stage, DSE' CEO, Nobuyuki Sakakibara, held the microphone and addressed the fans and media. Fans took pictures with digital cameras and portable phones, and the atmosphere was almost that of a live music concert. When Sakakibara announced PRIDE'S first show on American soil, the gathered fans responded with loud cheers and thunderous applause.

Shortly after, four participants were officially confirmed for PRIDE'S October 21st show: "The New York Badass" Phil Baroni, Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort, Josh "The Babyfaced Assasin" Barnett and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. Each fighter was present to take photos and video and also to answer questions from the fans regarding PRIDE'S first show in America.

The main bout for THE REAL DEAL was announced to be between 2000 Absolute Weight Grand Prix tournament champion, Mark "The Hammer" Coleman, and current PRIDE Heavyweight champion and 2004 Absolute Weight Grand Prix champion Fedor Emelianenko. Undefeated in PRIDE, Emelianenko heads into the bout with a 13 fight win streak while Coleman is fresh off a recent victory at PRIDE 31. Another announced bout features Chute Boxe's Mauricio "Shogun" set to return to action for the first time since his elbow injury in February to face former three-time All-American and two-time national collegiate wrestling champion, Kevin "The Monster" Randleman.

Later, a surprise announcement was made by Sakakibara, when he introduced special guest, former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. The boxing legend addressed the crowd saying that he will be participating in PRIDE sometime in the near future. Tyson also revealed his feelings about PRIDE saying that it is the best fighting organization in the world with the most talented fighters, and that he is happy to be a part of PRIDE.

At the end of the night, fighters drew tickets from a special raffle to win t-shirts, autographed posters, DVD'S, gloves, and a couple lucky fans won tickets to PRIDE'S October 21st "REAL DEAL" show. All in all, the two-hour event was memorable for both fighters and fans alike and PRIDE hopes to bring more exciting shows to the U.S. in the future.

Remember, PRIDE'S first show, "THE REAL DEAL" will be on American soil this October 21st at the Thomas and Mack Center. Tickets are now officially on sale at and also through 1-866 US-FIGHT.
