PRE-FIGHT INTERVIEW VITOR BELFORT & YOSHIKI TAKAHASHI
06/30/2006

Yoshihiro "KISS" Nakao: I'm nervous and excited now that the fight is getting close. I'm making the best use of the little time remaining until the fight.
The effects of changing my name? I don't know how they did it but someone found out my e-mail address. Now I get more than 100 e-mails every day, most of them saying that thanks for changing my name like they wanted. I only got 70 e-mails after I fought Herring, so I'm thinking of changing my address.

I intended to fight in PRIDE in May but now nearly 7 months have passed since New Year's Eve. I was in the hospital in the beginning and then I restarted my training in March. I'm at about 90% right now. Energy is boiling up inside of me for this fight.
My opponent, Eun Su, seems to have a lot of stamina. Apparently, he fought for 40 minutes but I don't think we need that much time. I'm ready to fight for the full 20 minutes but I will end the fight quickly. I'm thinking more about what kind of performance to do after the fight than the fight itself. (Do you have any ideas?) Yes, I do.
I'm thinking about a performance after the fight that will show everyone a new guy has come to PRIDE. Of course, I will show a good fight, too.
I weight 103kg but I'm not very big as a Heavyweight. I won't lose in terms of speed and power, though. My striking is complete, too. I won't back down in front of any other Heavyweight fighter. I've been training with Takumi Yano for two years and I've mastered all the submissions, including leg-locks.
From now until the fight, I will be tanning, eating food and relaxing. There are some television shows that I want to watch, so I will watch them. I go to sleep right when the clock strikes midnight, like Cinderella. I wake up refreshed. When I wake up in the morning, I open the window and make breakfast.
Kiss? If my opponent is good looking, my natural instincts come out. Eun Su is ugly, though. One of his corner men is handsome though, so I may have to go over there. Maybe you should look forward to that, too. (laughing) At any rate, it will be amazing.

Lee Eun Su: I'm very happy that my dream of fighting in PRIDE will come true. I've wanted to fight in PRIDE for a long time and now it has become a reality. I think this will be a fun fight for me.
I originally just did weight lifting and wrestling. One day I saw one of Enson Inoue's fights on the internet and I began mixed martial arts. I'm good at stomping, soccer ball kicks and pounding. I think I'm the kind of fighter that wants to entertain the fans. This will be my first fight in a year and eight months. I took a public job, rather than serve for 2 years in the military. It's a military job but I'm not in the military. They said in Japan that I'm the strongest fighter in Korea? Well, I don't think so.
Nakaohe kisses his opponents before the fight, right? If he kisses me, it will be my first kiss in the ring, so I hope he's ready to take care of me like he should. (laughing) I don't think I will just punch him like Herring did but I will take it out on him in the fight. In terms of style, he's good at tackling and he's the strongest fighter I've ever faced. I want to bring out everything I have in this fight, not just win.
