WANDERLEI SILVA REPLACES FEDOR IN ROUND 2 OF TOTAL ELIMINATION ABSOLUTE

PRIDE Heavyweight Champion FEDOR EMELIANENKO has officially withdrawn from the PRIDE Openweight Grand Prix. Emelianenko, who underwent surgery to repair an injured thumb will not be able to participate in time for the second round of Total Elimination Absolute.

Doctors speculate that the earliest that the metal plate in Fedor's hand could be removed and fully healed is June 2006. Fedor apologizes to his fans and is looking foward to fighting any time this year.

Replacing Emelianenko's spot in the tournament will be none other than PRIDE's Middleweight Champion WANDERLEI SILVA. Stay tuned for further news on who the "Axe Murderer"'s opponent will be for round 2 of the OPEN WEIGHT GRAND PRIX!
