TOKYO, Japan:

Two additional bouts have been announced for PRIDE FIGHTING'S upcoming May 5th event, TOTAL ELIMINATION ABSOLUTE 2006, scheduled to premiere on Friday, May 5th, 2006.Croatian sensation MIRKO "CRO COP" FILIPOVIC, will battle against Japanese pro-wrestler IKUHISA "PUNK" MINOWA and the "BABYFACED ASSASIN" JOSH BARNETT will take on Red Devil's ALEKSANDER EMELIANENKO.

Coming off of impressive TKO victory over GIANT SILVA, only one man will be left standing as IKUHISA MINOWA faces MIRKO "CROCOP", in hopes of advancing to the next round of TOTAL ELIMINATION 2006. Standing just 3 inches shorter than his opponent but weighing more, the mma veteran, JOSH BARNETT will face ALEKSANDER EMELIANENKO, the brother of the current heavyweight champion FEDOR EMELIANENKO. With both fighters winning their last bouts via the rear naked choke, this match will surely determine who the better submission artist is.

Other fighters expected to participate in the tournament: ANTONIO RODRIGO NOGUEIRA, MARK HUNT, "TK" KOSAKA and WANDERLEI SILVA. Additional participants and match ups to be announced soon.

TOTAL ELIMINATION ABSOLUTE is the first round of PRIDE FIGHTING'S 2006 16-Man Grand Prix Tournament. ABSOLUTE means no weight classes. The tournament will span three events: TOTAL ELIMINATION ABSOLUTE (Opening Round), CRITICAL COUNTDOWN ABSOLUTE (Second Round) and FINAL CONFLICT ABSOLUTE (Semi-Finals and Finals). Dates for the latter two events will be announced soon.

TOTAL ELIMINATION ABSOLUTE 2006 is scheduled to premiere on North American pay per view on Friday, May 5th, 2006.
