We caught up with Mark Hunt to ask them their thoughts and feelings on their upcoming December 31st fights at PRIDE SHOCKWAVE 2005, to be held at Saitama Super Arena.

Mark Hunt:
Why do I always wear shorts? Japan is cold but for some reason, my legs aren't. Australia is warm now and Japan is cold but it hasn't really affected by conditioning.

I wanted to fight Mirko since last year's SHOCKWAVE so I'm glad it worked out this time. It's a revenge match and I think it's a step to the next stage. Mirko is definitely one of the top fighters and it will be a big challenge for me. I want to overcome that big challenge and bring in the New Year.

I think Mirko is a great fighter. I was lacking something when he knocked me down before and I've worked on that in my training this time.

Will this be a standing-only fight? No, I think that's up to Mirko. One of us has to take the other down. I may take him down but I can't say now. (laughing) I have definitely improved my ground skills. I don't care whether the fight ends on the ground or standing. I just want to beat Mirko. The rest doesn't matter. Mirko's ground technique? He always fights standing up so I have no idea.

I have techniques to block Mirko's left high-kick. It won't hit me this time. I hope it doesn't hit me. (laughing) Well, it probably won't hit me. Anyway, I'm going to win! I don't have any particular way that I want the fight to go. I just want to win. After I beat Mirko, I want to win the Grand Prix next year. I've had a yearlong break and I want to fight more often next year. I want to fight more and make more money. (laughing)

I brought back my old coach who raised me for this fight. He's a good coach. He has a strong spirit.
