A press conference was held in Tokyo on February 22nd to announced DWANGO Co., Ltd.'s new Pakeraji service. Dream Stage Entertainment CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara and PRIDE General Director Nobuhiko Takada were present.

DWANGO Co., Ltd, an entertainment solutions vender creating network communications, has launched a new service. The new service, Pakeraji, brings streaming broadcasts to mobile phones via packet transmissions. The name Pakeraji is an abbreviation of "packet radio, or "paketto rajio" in Japanese. In addition to the audio information such as celebrity voices, background music and special effects, the transmissions will also include still photos that change on a regular basis alongside support text broadcasts. It is the birth of a new brand of mobile entertainment.

Contents will be varied, ranging from music and variety programs to swimsuit pictorials. PRIDE and HUSTLE programs will be included in their sports lineup. DSE CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara and PRIDE General Director Nobuhiko Takada were present at the press conference.

"DSE has martial arts contents for PRIDE. For example, we will now be able to deliver fight results to fans that want to receive them via Pakeraji. We can also provide post-fight comments from the fighters and information that we weren't able to put on TV. We always get post-fight interviews from the fighters so I think it would be good if we could get fans to listen to them on Pakeraji," Sakakibara commented. "I think the viewers' feelings towards the fighters and the cards will become stronger with the introduction of Pakeraji," continued Takada. "Now they will be able to quickly receive information that wasn't able to be broadcast on-air."
