BUSHIDO 5 INTERVIEW
11/15/2004
Yasuhito Namekawa

Pride Fighting Championships: What did you think of the fight?
Namekawa: He was tough. I think I need to work on a lot more things. I planned on striking with him from the beginning and didn't train any grappling for this fight, only kickboxing. The pressure from Chute Boxe fighters is incredible in the first 2 minutes. Everyone told me to avoid striking with him but since we were the first fight, I wanted to get everyone at Osaka Castle Hall fired up. I didn't expect him to clinch and I was surprised right from the beginning.
Pride: You're corner man kept telling you to "move, move." Were you lost, considering how the fight was playing out?
Namekawa: There was a lot of pressure from him and I don't know whether there was something in the beginning that hurt me. Maybe there was, I don't know. I know that I have to move when my corner man tells me too. I'm going to start over in my training. I'll do my best so they'll give me another chance.
