Standing at 5'9" (175 cm) tall and weighing over 220 lbs (100kg), Jeff Monson's background is as storied as the tattoos that adorn his physique. "The Snowman" is a former collegiate wrestler who was introduced to MMA through Pankratian expert Matt Hume. Monson took to the submission sport naturally, capturing ADCC tournament championships in 1999 and 2005, and also placing as first runner-up in 2000 and 2001. His MMA record is 22-6-0, boasting championship titles with the XFC and CWFC, as well as a doctorate in psychology (prior to MMA, Monson worked as a counselor). In November 2006, Monson challenged then-champion Tim Sylvia for the UFC heavyweight title.
