TRAVIS "Diezel" WIUFF"I started wrestling when I was five and I wouldn't fight like I do now if it weren't for wrestling," Wiuff, a pure wrestler, commented. Since his 2002 mixed martial arts debut, Wiuff has competed in more than 50 fights and had 15 fights in 2003 alone, a near super-human schedule. Wiuff now proudly carries a record of 42 wins and 9 losses. After training under top fighters such as Dave Menne and Pat Miletich, Wiuff remained undefeated in 19 fights from March 2003 until he lost to Renato "Babalu" Sobral in the April 2005 UFC 52. In addition to his wrestling takedowns, Wiuff is blessed with a large physical frame and his striking and inside fighting skills are highly regarded. In his PRIDE debut, Wiuff will take on Kazuhiro Nakamura, a PRIDE veteran. Fans were treated to a new and improved Nakamura in both the previous Las Vegas PRIDE event and his bout against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in the New Year's Eve SHOCKWAVE. Will Wiuff be able to impose his iron will upon Nakamura? |
