A native of Houston, Texas, Guy Mezger began his martial arts career training in Karate and then later in kickboxing. This combination of arts propelled Mezger into a very successful career in both the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Pancrase organizations with his reputation growing as one of the sport's elite strikers. Mezger then met Ken Shamrock and the two began exchanging knowledge and training together---Mezger sharing his expertise in striking and Shamrock sharing his mastery of submissions holds. The result for Mezger was that he grew into a well-rounded fighter able to strike, wrestle, and use submissions. His mixed martial arts career includes wins over Semmy Schilt, Tito Ortiz, and Yuki Kondo. Today Mezger is a member of Shamrock's "Lion's Den" fight team and runs its branch in Dallas, Texas.
